Blue Ball Properties - Alapocas Woods Greenway

(Completed fall 2003)

Greenway SignAlapocas Woods Greenway, from Brandywine River to West Park Drive, was awarded for construction in late 2002 and work began in January 2003. This section was completed in the fall of 2003.

In addition, Alapocas Woods Greenway is part of the new portion of the Northern Delaware Greenway through the West Park which will link the City of Wilmington at Brandywine Park to the East Park, Rockwood Museum and Bellevue Park, and Fox Point State Park via an underpass below US Route 202. Greenway connections will also extend north and south along the West Park Drive to link neighborhoods surrounding the park.

Park paths will provide access between and through natural areas while limiting impact on habitat, offering diverse experiences for hikers, bikers, joggers and others. At various points along the path system there will be places for park-goers to stop, rest and enjoy the park. These areas will provide informational kiosks with orientation s and other park information.
