Iron Branch Road / State Street, between Sussex Alley and Old Landing Road in the Town of Millsboro

Project Overview

This roadway has historically experienced high rates of accidents and as a result, was included as part of the Department's Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). The proposed roadway improvements may include (but are not limited to) pavement resurfacing, curb and sidewalk reconstruction, and relocating some utility poles to eliminate or reduce the number of fixed objects located within the roadway. This project will identify and address safety and operational improvements along the roadway to alleviate the existing features within the roadway that may impede motorists.

The preliminary design was presented to the public at a Workshop on June 27, 2011.

Current Schedule

• Final Design will be complete by Spring 2013
• Construction may begin in Fall 2013 (schedule based on current DelDOT CTP funding)
